Laura Lamas Abraira

Laura Lamas Abraira is graduated of Fine Arts by the University of Vigo (Spain) and the École Supériéure des Beaux-Arts of Angers (France). She also took specialized one-year course in cinema direction at the Center for Research in Arts of Film and TV (CRAFT) in New Delhi (India). Back in Europe she obtained a master degree in Ethnographic Research, Anthropological Theory and Intercultural Relations by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain). Since november 2014   she is PhD student in Translation and Intercultural Studies program of the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Spain. 

Her thesis research deals with transnational grandparenting and intergenerational care among Chinese families and it is carried out through a multisited etnography between China and Spain. She is currently conducting her fieldwork  in China under the “Confucius China Studies Program- Joint Research PhD fellowship”. Recently she has participated in international conferences as the “Joint East Asian Studies Conference” (JEAS 2016, Londres)  o la “19th International Conference on Cultural Anthropology, Cultural and Social Studies” (ICCACSS 2017, Osaka ).
