Laura Santamaria has taught translation at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since 1985, where she held different management positions and where she is the dean since 2012. Her research is based on issues related to mass media, intertextuality and cultural studies. She has taught specialised translation, specifically subjects on screen and multimedia translation and legal translation. She was as well teacher of translation and developer of materials for on-line masters at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the New York University. She worked as a professional translator for different Catalan publishing houses and for Televisió de Catalunya as a screen translator. She is now member of the Board of Òmnium in Sabadell and was member of the Board of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana and the European Association for Studies in Screen Translation.

PhD candidate in Translation and Paratranslation, Department of Translation and Linguistics, University of Vigo. She holds a PhD degree in Translation and Intercultural Studies (UAB) and a bachelor degree in Hispanic Philology (University of Peking, China). Her research is developed in the field of audiovisual translation (Spanishs-Chinese), with emphasis on paratranslation and dubbing of films. She currently combines her research (University of Vigo) with the practice of translation and interpretation.

Fiona Kelso
FionaMegan.Kelso@uab.catAdjunct lecturer in translation (English) at the Department of Translation and Interpreting of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Official Master’s Degree in Translation, Interpreting and Intercultural Studies (UAB) and Honours degree in Geography (University of Leeds, UK). Her research is centred on areas of cultural transfer in translation with a special emphasis on geographical references. She currently combines her teaching and research at the UAB with translation work. Active member of Mediterranean Editors and Translators, based in Barcelona and member of the Society of Authors (London).

Lucia.Molina@uab.catSenior lecturer in Arabic in the Department of Translation and Interpreting of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. PhD in Translation Theory (UAB) and Degree in Arabic Philology (University of Barcelona). She teaches on the Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpreting at the UAB and in the Official Master’s Degree in Translation, Interpreting and Intercultural Studies. She also teaches on the Master’s Degree MIM: Crossing the Mediterranean toward Investiment and Integration (UAB, Université de Montpellier III, Paul Valéry Università degli Studi di Venezia, Ca'Foscari). Her research is centred on cultural transfer in translation from Arabic.

Associate professor of the Japanese language at the Department of Translation and Interpreting and East Asian Studies, Autonomous University of Barcelona. PhD student in Translation and Intercultural Studies (UAB). Official Master's degree in Translation, Interpretation and Intercultural Studies (UAB). Bachelor degree in English Language and Literature, specialized in Culture, Doshisha Joshi University, Japan. She teaches to the degree in Translation and Interpreting and the degree in East Asian Studies (UAB). Her research is developed in the field of cultural transfer in translation, intercultural studies and Japanese didactics.

Teaching Philology, Translation and Intercultural Studies in undergraduate in Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages. Her research consists of the field of audiovisual translation (Chinese-Spanish) and that of teaching Spanish.
