TIREC (Information Technology and Scientific Research on Education) research group is designed, as its name suggests, analyze policies and to design and promote new practices for science education that takes into account the challenges of the immersion in the Society of information and Knowledge (implementation of new technologies in the classroom, use of new communication languages, abundant information management, etc).
The group has been consolidated by the Directorate General for Research since 1995 and is a continuation of the research group SGR aid in 2009 (Ref. 2009SGR00737) and SGR 2014 (Ref. 2014SGR942) of the same name. However, in a highly changing environment such as new technologies and their use in education, some of the scientific objectives of the group must evolve, adapting to the present moment, while still maintaining its essence.
