|Nazaret Fresno Cañada holds an M.A. in Comparative Literature and Literary Translation from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain) and an M.A. in Audiovisual Translation from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain). She recently obtained her PhD, which focused on the reception of characters in audio described films. She has taught translation and interpreting and audiovisual translation courses in several universities in Spain, and is now an Assistant Professor of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Texas at Brownsville (USA).
She has worked as a freelance translator, subtitler and audio describer for several companies and her research interests include audiovisual translation and accessibility.
