VET Development Symposium: Current Situation and Development of Further Education and Research in Vocational Education and Training in Sub-Saharian Africa

20 September, 2016

In August 23rd, 24th and 25th of August, the VET Development Symposium was held, organized by the University of Rostock (Germany) and hosted by the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Windhoek, Namibia.

This symposium gathered 40 researchers and professors of 18 universities, as delegates of different countries of Sub-Saharian Africa, Europe, Asia and America. This was an extraordinary change to discuss epistemological issues on research on VET, different models of life long learning, and the conditions for the collaboration between organizations and sectors in order to establish a further vocational education, among others.

Anna Ciraso, of EFI group, was invited to present a paper on evaluation of teacher training for VET institutions. The article will be soon published by Bertelsmann Stiftung, along with the other very interesting contributions of the symposium.
