Valeria Tonioli

She is currently in the process of finishing a postdoctoral fellowship at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in Italy, during which she has explored the challenges and benefits of teaching/learning Italian as a second language in innovative settings (both schools and non formal contexts) and she has also explored the intercultural mediation setting. The fellowship will end on 31th March 2018.

She hold a joint Ph.D. in Language Siences and Translation and Intercultural Studies obtained at both Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the UAB of Barcelona. During her Ph.D. and her Post-doc, she also had the opportunity to be a teaching assistant for Bachelor and Master students and a trainer involved in the professional development of language teachers and intercultural mediators. However, as part of her duties as coordinator of the Labcom at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, she helped to secure funding for several projects and she  coordinated teachers and trainers for Italian courses and intercultural mediation.

She also had a Master in Laguage Sciences obtained at the University Ca' Foscari of Venice and a Master in Teaching Italian as a second language.
She also had some pubblication in Language Education and Intercultural Mediation.
