Research projects developed by SAPPO are focused on the study of prehistoric societies. Of particular interest is the study of the Neolithic communities along the Mediterranean basin, and their later evolution.

Our research is focused on the three main topics listed below:

  1. Origins, development and consolidation of agriculture and herding practices in the Near East
  2. Development and consolidation of agricultural and herding practices in the Western Mediterranean basin
  3. Training, cultural heritage dissemination and cooperation
